GED Application and Testing Requirements
Title of State Credential: State of Nebraska Department
of Education High School Diploma.
Minimum age: 18 and is unable to secure a diploma from
the high school he/she last attended; or the class of which he/she was a member
at the time of withdrawal from school has been graduated for at least one year.
Residence: Applicant must be a resident of Nebraska for
at least 30 days immediately preceding application, or final period of high
school attendance during which credit was earned towards graduation must have
been in a Nebraska high school. (High schools may issue diplomas based on GED
Test results).
Minimum Age and Conditions for GED Testing: 16 years of
age and withdrawn from school.
Requirements for GED Retesting: Applicant must wait 60
days or provide evidence of concentrated study under an NDE approved learning
center or tutor.
Official Transcripts: Test scores are accepted as
official only when reported directly by: Official GED Testing Centers;
Transcript Service of the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education
Support (DANTES); Veterans Administration hospitals/ centers; and the GED
Testing Service.
