Maryland GED Information
To take the GED Tests in Maryland, applicants must be at least 16 years old, not be a high school graduate, have been a Maryland resident for at least three months at the time of testing, and have been officially withdrawn from a regular high school program for at least three months. Information on waivers for withdrawal and residency requirements can be obtained by contacting the GED office at the Maryland State Department of Education. To sit for the test there is a $45 scheduling fee made payable to the GED Office, as well as specific eligibility requirements outlined on the application. The fee must accompany the application.
