Request a Copy of Your Diploma or Transcript: If you took the General Educational Development (GED) test in Florida and need a copy of your diploma or transcript, the following instructions will help you prepare the request. The GED office is not equipped to fill orders by telephone or via the Internet, we require a written request accompanied by the required fee. Once we receive the written request in the GED office, it takes approximately 5-7 working days for the document to be mailed.
To receive a copy of your diploma or transcript, you should:
- Submit a request in writing that includes your name, date of birth, and social security number. We also request that you provide the approximate year the test was taken, and the city or county where the test was taken.
- Send a $6 money order or cashier's check made payable to the Florida Department of Education for each copy you are requesting. We do not accept personal checks or cash.
- Send an envelope, with postage attached, addressed to where you would like the document mailed. A transcript requires a letter sized envelope with a $.42 stamp. A diploma requires a 10x13 envelope with $1.00 postage attached. If you order both documents, and they are being sent to the same address, send only the 10x13 envelope.
- Mail your request to:
