Do you have to live in the District to take it?
One must be a bonafide resident of the District of Columbia to sit for the examination in the District of Columbia except for a few special exceptions which are reviewed on a case by case basis.
How long are "partially passed GED test scores VALID"? Someone told me that if you don't retake the test within one year, your test scores for the areas you passed are "INVALID"?
All test scores earned on/or after 2002 on the Official GED test are considered in determining qualifying passing scores. These scores will be valid until the next edition of the GED is issued {2011}. Scores earned on examinations prior to 2002 will not be considered in determining qualifying passing scores. Any scores earned since 2002 will be considered until 2011 edition testing begins.
How long must a candidate wait before retesting? Are there some occasions when the 90 day does not apply?
GED POLICY Early Re-Testing Policy: There is a three month waiting period between test administrations and only in cases of extreme hardship will applicants be allowed to test within this three month period. All appeals to the GED Administrator must include written documentation on company letterhead that verifies the request. No applicant is permitted to test more than three times in a calendar year.
Do I have to take the practice GED first?
Yes, you must sit for the 2002 Edition of the Official GED Practice Test.
My-Ged Note: You cannot take the GED test online
